Doeskin is a fine woolen fabric with a short, brushed nap, which gives it a satin-like sheen and softness. This glossy nap also resembles the smooth coat of a deer, hence the fabric's name. Doeskin was a popular choice for coats and jackets from the 18th century through the mid-19th century. Mid to heavy weight.
This would make a stunning early victorian tailcoat or riding jacket.
